BEST NEW TALENT - PRESENTER
CATEGORY OBJECTIVE
To recognise outstanding talent and/or promise in those new to the radio/audio industry. This award is open to presenters of radio shows or podcasts. To be eligible, entrants must be under 35 years old as at 31 December 2024.
CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
This award is made to a new presenter who displays an outstanding ability to engage, inform and entertain their target audience.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
AUDIO
Audio duration maximum is 10 minutes.
WRITTEN
Goals & Achievements - 200 words.
A letter from the General Manager or Content Director confirming the entrant has not yet completed 2 and a half years (30 months, to 31 December 2024) full-time employment in NZ broadcasting. Note that internship is not deemed to be part of this period but those whose service includes previous overseas experience in radio (outside of the 30 month eligibility period), or NZ experience across television, digital and radio are not eligible.

50 POINTS | BROADCAST OUTPUT

Audio evidence of the entrant’s effectiveness with their target audience. This will include the ability to inform, educate and/or entertain.

BEST NEW TALENT - JOURNALIST
CATEGORY OBJECTIVE
To recognise outstanding talent and/or promise in those new to the radio broadcasting industry specialising in on air news, sports or journalism. To be eligible, entrants must be under 35 years old as at 31 December 2024.
CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
This award is made to a new talent who displays an outstanding ability to engage and inform their target audience. It acknowledges outstanding journalistic endeavour from an individual involved in the preparation of radio news and sports stories.

BEST NEW TALENT - OFF AIR
CATEGORY OBJECTIVE
To recognise outstanding talent and/or promise in those new to the radio broadcasting industry. To be eligible, entrants must be under 35 years old as at 31 December 2024.
CATEGORY DESCRIPTION
This award is made to a broadcaster who demonstrated outstanding talent and/or promise in an off-air role.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Goals & Achievements - 200 words.
A letter from the General Manager or Content Director confirming the entrant has not yet completed 2 and a half years (30 months, to 31 December 2024) full-time employment in NZ broadcasting.
